The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it will receive applications for participation in the 2022 Seoul Metropolitan Government Hackathon Contest using urban data by August 5.
The city data hackathon competition, which will be held for the first time this year, aims to analyze the urban phenomenon of Seoul using IoT urban data or to recruit ideas for citizens' solutions to community problems.
The Seoul IoT urban data is one that can be used to diagnose and prepare countermeasures for urban problems by measuring various sensors collected by the promotion of the Seoul IoT project.
The hackathon will run from August 26 to 27 at the S-Flex Center in Sangam-dong for two nights.
There are no restrictions on hackathons, but at least one of the IoT city data provided by the Seoul Metropolitan Government must be used. In addition, content that solves urban problems or can contribute to the public interest, and the fields are web/app service development, data analysis reports, and infographic production. However, the examination is conducted in an integrated manner, not divided by field.
Any individuals or teams of 2 to 4 people can participate in the hackathon. People who wish to participate can fill out and receive an application form, consent form for collecting and providing personal information, and a product plan (PPT format, within 10 sheets) on the Seoul Metropolitan Government website from July 4 to August 5.
The final 20 teams will be selected through document screening. The criteria for the preliminary screening are four items: suitability, creativity, appropriateness, and feasibility. The announcement of the results of the finalists will be posted on the Smart Seoul portal site on August 16.
The 20 teams selected after the first document review will gather at the multipurpose hall (second to third floors) of the S-Flex Center in Sangam-dong from 09:00 on August 26 to conduct a face-to-face hackathon.
Each team is required to announce the results on the 27th, and a total of six teams, including one best prize, will be selected according to the judges' review results, and the total prize money of 10 million won and the Seoul Mayor's Award will be given.
