Hyundai Motor Group and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority jointly developed an automatic EV taxi operation information linkage system. - EV taxi models, which are scheduled to be released in Korea this year, are equipped with an automatic connection system for taxi operation information. - It contributes to the development of the taxi industry, such as the development of related policies, by collecting stable taxi operation information. - It will promote co-prosperity in industries such as improving the business environment by expanding the usability of taxi-only service platforms in the future.

Hyundai Motor Group announced that it signed a "business agreement for joint development of an automatic taxi operation information linkage system" with the Korea Transportation Safety Authority.

The joint development agreement was made to promote mutual growth with the taxi industry by supporting the development of more stable taxi operation information collection and data-based policy through the development of an automatic linkage system between taxi service platform, which is an integrated terminal of Kia Niro EV taxi model to be released this year, and taxi operation information management system (TIMS) of Korea Transportation Safety Corporation.

With the signing of the agreement, Hyundai Motor Group plans to use its own taxi service platform to secure stability in collecting taxi operation information and contribute to the development of related industries such as developing taxi policies using collected data.

Kia Niro EV taxi-only models will release a dedicated service platform with taxi service essential services, such as Appmeter, Navigation, DTG (a device that automatically records vehicle operation information such as vehicle speed and braking, and traffic accident situations, and digital driving recorder).

Drivers using this model can automatically register in the taxi operation information management system of the Korea Transportation Safety Authority with the first input of a vehicle number and a business registration number. In addition, under Article 55 of the Traffic Safety Act, taxi operation information, which requires mandatory records, will be automatically transmitted to the system without a separate procedure.

Previously, it was necessary to have a hassle procedure such as writing application documents directly by the driver of the vehicle and sending them by e-mail or fax to register taxi vehicle and terminal information in the taxi operation information management system. However, this cooperation can automatically register through the taxi service platform of Hyundai Motor Group, thereby dramatically improving user convenience.

Hyundai Motor Group will jointly develop a linkage system between the dedicated taxi service platform to be launched this year and the Korea Transportation Safety Corporation's taxi operation information management system and will cooperate in the development of various data-based policies through the stability of collecting taxi operation information and securing data compatibility.

“We expect to be able to provide a motorized mobility solution specialized in the taxi business environment by launching an EV taxi-only service platform including DTG functions. We will continue to make efforts to build a data-based future mobility ecosystem by expanding cooperation to logistics and transportation in the future,” said Kim Sung-keun, managing director of the TaaS headquarters of Hyundai Motor Group.
