World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization (WeGO) signed an MOU with Kookmin University - To promote smart city professional training through the operation of "WeGO Champions" for college students - To collect and analyze the world's best smart city cases and develop smart city indicators - To provide job and start-up information as well as share trends and policies in the smart city industry

World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization (WeGO Secretary-General Park Jung-sook) and Kookmin University (President Lim Hong-jae) will sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at 6 p.m. on November 30 at Kookmin University's headquarters to train smart city professionals and develop global smart city indicators.

World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization (WeGO), the first and largest international consultative body in the smart city sector led by Seoul, plans to operate “WeGO Champions”, a smart city professional training program based on this business agreement.

“WeGO Champions” will provide employment and start-up information in the smart city field to major universities in Seoul, including students from Kookmin University, and share smart city industry trends and policies to foster future smart city personnel.

Wego, (world smart sustainable cities organization) is the world’s first Public-Private Partnership(PPP) between the city and business committee, led by Seoul to seek to promote exchanges and sustainable development in the smart city industry.

When it was founded in 2010, it started with 50 member cities and has now grown into the world's largest international consultative body with a total of 209 cities, institutions, and companies participating as members, including 158 global cities.

Over the past 11 years, it has been expanding its international awareness and influence by promoting joint projects to spread knowledge of smart cities with international organizations such as the World Bank, the African Development Bank, and the International Telecommunications Union.

World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization will jointly operate the "WeGO Champions" program in cooperation with WeGO member cities around the world and provide young people with diverse knowledge of global smart cities to prepare for quality jobs in the rapidly changing era of the fourth industrial revolution.

It also plans to operate lecture programs and academic seminars which aim to analyze and present student-led cases of global smart cities and publish reports.

In addition, World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization and Kookmin University will cooperate in developing global smart city indicators. It plans to jointly collect and analyze cases of excellent smart cities around the world to develop evaluation indicators and select excellent smart cities for each field every year.
