Samsung Electronics announced that it will open SmartThings experience space at its major stores nationwide, to provide visitors the direct opportunities of various multi-device experiences at stores.

Samsung Electronics has opened a SmartThings experience zone at 15 digital plazas and department stores nationwide including Seoul, Gwangju, Daegu, Daejeon, Busan, and Incheon, and presented a SmartThings routine according to various lifestyles. In addition, other 80 stores have integrated zones that link mobile, TV, and home appliances to let customers easily experience the SmartThings functions.

‘SmartThings’ means a total experience by connecting devices, including Samsung Electronics products and services as well as other compatible external device connections, to complete people’s lifestyles.

■Presentation of ideal life through the connection of multi-devices depends on situations, such as party room and one-person broadcasting

The SmartThings Experience Zone proposes a convenient life through multi-device connection in six thematic spaces: △ Home Entertainment △ Home Studio △ Home Fitness △ Home Cooking △ Game Room △ Companion Animal Care.

For example, if ‘SmartThings Party Mode’ is on, which is set in a party room for home entertainment, the electric curtains are closed, the portable screen ‘The Freestyle’ projects the neon sign on the wall, and the music flows from the sound bar, creating a party atmosphere automatically.

Also, if ‘SmartThings Broadcasting Mode’ in a study room decorated with a home studio is on, you can broadcast live pictures of drawing with a tablet PC and smartphone. The air purifiers and air conditioners are switched to windless mode automatically to make the room condition optimal for the broadcasting.

Samsung Electronics has diversified an experience zone considering the customers who visit the store mainly. In Gangnam and Hongdae flag store in Seoul, where the population of college students is high, emphasizes game rooms and study room experience zones. In Suwon Gwanggyo Galleria store, where many newlyweds live nearby, they show the usability of SmartThings in various spaces such as the living room, kitchen, and dressing room through collaboration with Casamia. Among the 15 experience zones nationwide, Gwanggyo Galleria will be open on August 26 and Jeju will open in October.

■SmartThings Utilization Course and #YouMake Zone to Design Your Own Experience

Samsung Electronics also plans to run a lecture on SmartThings utilization and operate a ‘#YouMake Zone’ so customers can design their own experiences.

Samsung Electronics will hold a variety of daily lectures such as the energy-saving know-hows using Smart Things, the air quality management tips, animal snack making, and the golf lesson to utilize Galaxy Watch at the Digital Plaza Stores and department store cultural centers, where the SmartThings Experience Zone is located.

Moreover, a customed studio ‘#YouMake Zone’ is available at five stores so that customers can create accessories that express their own personalities. At the studio, customers can decorate their own smartphones, tablets, and lifestyle TVs with their own ideas and can produce accessories using artist collaboration content and eco-friendly materials. # YouMake Zone is operating at Samsung Daechi, Hongdae, and Daejeon main stores, and will be conducted at Bucheon Joongdong and Haeundae main stores from September.

“Samsung Electronics is trying to improve our stores to hands-on spaces like playgrounds that customers can enjoy, from the space only for buying products,” said Lee Hyun-jung, managing director of Samsung Electronics Korea. “We expect customers to find their own SmartThings experience through the new experience zones.”
