Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Jung, Ui-seon announced plans to release all new cars launched by Genesis from 2025 as hydrogen fuel cell or battery-powered vehicles in his brand vision announcement through video.
“Genesis, which was launched as a luxury brand on Hyundai, is recognized as a global luxury brand with its completed lineup and excellent marketability,” said Chairman Chung at the ‘Futuring Genesis’, a video released on the online channel on Sep 2. “This announcement will be the starting point of Genesis’s bold journey and a place to draw a sustainable future that Genesis will lead through its innovative vision,” he said.
◇ Fuel cell and battery 'dual electrification' strategy and achieve carbon-neutral brand by 2035
Through the Futuring Genesis, Genesis will introduce a ‘dual-electrification’ strategy centered on two models of fuel cell-based electric vehicles and battery-based electric vehicles and announced that it will release all new vehicles as hydrogen or battery electric vehicles from 2025.
Genesis is planning to make all-out efforts to develop △ a new fuel cell system with high power and high-performance △ next-generation lithium-ion batteries with high efficiency and high performance.
In particular, Genesis strongly expressed its willingness to lead the luxury electrification market by presenting its goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2035 for the first time in a group based on dual electrification strategy and technology development.
To this end, Genesis plans to complete a lineup of hydrogen-electric vehicles and battery electric vehicles composed of a total of eight models by 2030 and expand sales to 400,000 units per year in the global market.
Genesis plans to achieve carbon neutrality by innovating not only raw materials and parts but also all value chains of its brand including production processes along with the transition to electrification lineups.
“Genesis will become a leading brand in the era of electrification based on its sustainability beyond luxury,” said Jang, Jae-hoon, president of Genesis, who became the spokesperson after the chairman Chung. “We will continue to work to make positive changes and to create a better future in the real interaction with our customers,” he said.
◇ Opening work of the era of electrification with GV60, leap to the brand to design customer experience
Genesis presented the GV60, an electric vehicle model that was introduced last month along with the announcement of vision. The GV60, which opened the beginning of Genesis brand electrification, is the brand's first dedicated electric vehicle model with its exclusive platform "E-GMP" and is set to be released in the second half of this year.
In addition, Genesis unveiled its various future concepts such as △ stage door where the B pillar disappears that the front and rear doors face each other and open wide in opposite directions. △ Swivel Seat which seats revolve △mood lighting that surrounds the driver △thermal system that inspired from traditional ondol △sound system that feels like watching an orchestra performance.
Genesis also announced its ambition to become a luxury brand that truly communicates with customers through electric vehicles that will be introduced in the future starting with GV60.

The new architecture will not only integrate bold technology and amazing design but also provide customers with warm and sophisticated care and experience,” said Vice President of Genesis, Luke Donckerwolke.
Genesis also unveiled its brand film "Designed for Your Mind," which expresses the expansion of its design area, and captured the process of customers focusing on their inner of themselves and finding peace of mind through communication with Genesis.
Meanwhile, the announcement, produced in the form of a dialogue between Genesis President Jang, Jae-hoon, and Vice President Luke Donckerwolke, introduced future direction under the theme of "two lines," GV60 was introduced at the beginning of the video, and Genesis' Air Mobility was introduced at the end of the video, providing a variety of attractions.
Genesis launched the first luxury electrification model in Korea by releasing the G80 electric model in July, and the first exclusive electric vehicle GV60 will be released in the second half of this year. Genesis is solidifying its position in the global luxury electrification motorization market by presenting a vision of brand electrification including carbon-neutral goals for the first time in the group.
