Hyundai Motor and Kia Motor signed a business agreement with the Seoul National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and Seoul National University Bundang Hospital to promote mobility convenience enhancement of people with limited mobility.
The collaboration will be conducted to find ways to improve mobility convenience for the weak through the demonstration of "self-driving wheelchairs" that are developing technology to guarantee equality of mobility for disabled people.
Seoul National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and Seoul National University Bundang Hospital provides a place for self-driving wheelchairs to be tested in representative public places, art galleries and hospitals, while supporting the planning of demonstration programs.
Through this collaboration, Hyundai Motor and Kia will comprehensively review the utility, technology adequacy, and complement of self-driving wheelchairs and support Zero One's technology development process in the future.
In particular, Kia plans to provide mobility services that combine Carnival vehicles and self-driving wheelchairs that have been modified for the disabled through "Green Travel," a social contribution project specialized for the disabled.
This year, it will jointly plan with the Seoul National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art to run a specialized program to help the disabled and the mobility disadvantaged to view the exhibition more conveniently at the museum.
The project is expected to be a chance to confirm the possibility of wheelchairs as new personal mobility that can be enjoyed by both disabled and non-disabled people.
