Seoul Metropolitan Government recruits 180,000 participants for "Wrist Doctor 9988"

- The Seoul Metropolitan Government will designate a day of the week by age group from December 5th to recruit participants on a first-come, first-served basis. The age of application has been raised to 69 years old. - Special recruitment will also be conducted for health-vulnerable groups such as maternity mothers, metabolic syndrome patients, and single-person households.

Seoul Metropolitan Government recruits a total of 180,000 participants in the second phase of the Seoul-type healthcare "Wrist Doctor 9988.”

In order to expand the range of participants, the age of application has been raised by 5 years (64 → 69 years old), and special recruitment will also be conducted for health-vulnerable groups such as maternity mothers, metabolic syndrome patients, and single-person households.

The "Wrist Doctor 9988" project is a smart healthcare project launched by the Seoul Metropolitan Government using information and communication technology (ICT) to form healthy lifestyle habits for citizens and promote their health.

Seoul-type healthcare "Wrist Doctor 9988" provides non-face-to-face health management services such as smart bands for collecting, analyzing, and monitoring health activity data, supporting individual health goals through dedicated apps, monitoring health activities, and health information and health counseling.

The city recruited 50,000 participants last year and conducted the first pilot project until July this year, and the results of the project evaluation and analysis showed that it was effective in forming healthy lifestyles for participants.

In the second year of Wrist Doctor 9988, Seoul-style healthcare services will be further strengthened.

In order to increase the sustainability of citizens' health care, additional mental care and home training services are provided by partnering with the technology of healthcare start-up companies.

In addition, it plans to continue to operate the point system, which was highly responsive in the first year.

Points will be provided as incentives to maintain and encourage healthy activities when achieving missions such as walking more than 8,000 steps. (Up to 100,000 points, 1p = 1 won)

Points can be used like cash at hospitals, pharmacies, gyms, opticians, and convenience stores.

Applications are accepted online at the Wrist Doctor 9988 website (http://onhealth.seoul.go.kr).

Applicants must possess a smartphone that can be used by linking a smart band with a dedicated app.
