Hyundai AutoEver (CEO Seo Jeong-sik) has started to providing coding education to foster future talents of smart mobility, which is a key element of smart city.
Hyundai AutoEver announced on the 7th that it will conduct smart mobility engineering experience education, which is a coding education for children in vulnerable classes, along with Kids & Future Foundation.
The intention is to instill interest in digital mind design in the next generation that will lead the future of smart mobility and help them grow into self-directed creative talents.
Lego Education 'Spike Prime', a hands-on solution, will be used for this training. Children will receive customized coding educations for each level in eight times, and then they will show their skills through contest. Experience education, which started in 2018, has been conducted for about 170 children in 18 local children's centers so far.
The children's center in the metropolitan area can apply for participation through the website of the Kids & Future Foundation until June 11 and will be selected through on-site evaluation.
By June 16, Hyundai AutoEver will recruit college student mentors for experiential education. The company supports the growth of SW talents through scholarships and employee mentoring to college students participating in volunteer activities.
"Computing thinking, problem-solving, and design skills are important in the smart mobility world where children will live," said Kang Dong-sik, executive director of Hyundai AutoEver's management support team. "We hope that children's confidence will be strengthened through STEAM education."
