The KOFICE, along with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, unveiled the world map of K-Wonderland, the Korean Wave Metaverse world, on the global metaverse platform ZEPETO on October 14th (Fri).
K-Wonderland is a Korean Wave experience space on a metaverse platform that crosses online and offline boundaries.
Under the theme of "Korean Wave Amusement Park (theme park) where everyone can become Korean wave stars 24 hours 365 days", it plans to provide people around the world with various opportunities to experience Korean wave culture using the latest digital technology.
"K-Wonderland" consists of four main spaces with themes such as K-pop and Korean Wave dramas.
Each space consists of ▲ K-Wonder Castle, a space for users to welcome, ▲ K-Wonder Hall, which provides information on Korean wave events and introduces K-Wonderland, ▲ a K-pop stage where anyone can experience becoming a K-pop star by reproducing the actual music show stage, ▲ K-Drama Studio, a space where users can freely produce secondary creations by reproducing the background of popular Korean dramas.
"K-Wonder Castle" is the first space that users face after accessing K-Wonderland, and Wonderland's official avatar "K-Wonder Stars" welcome users and offers rides, while sculptures to take certification photos to draw attention.
On the outdoor electronic display board of "K-Wonder Hall," introduction videos of K-Wonderland and major Korean wave events will be played 24 hours a day, and the interior of the space will be decorated with events and usage information at K-Wonderland, Korean wave-related event information, and exhibitions and games related to Korean wave stars.
‘K-Pop Stage’ reproduces the actual music broadcast stage, practice room, and waiting room, allowing users to experience becoming K-pop stars.
The "K-Drama Studio," which is scheduled to be additionally released in November, will reproduce the representative scenes of six popular Korean dramas to induce various role plays.
On the other hand, "K-Wonderland" creates a creative environment where users can not only experience metaverse spaces but also create secondary creations on their own using personal avatars.
This is based on the "free user creative content creation culture" among the characteristics of the young (MZ) generation's metaverse enjoyment and is expected to contribute greatly to the more familiar acceptance and voluntary spread of Korean culture by Korean Wave fans around the world.
Through the filming function provided by ZEPETO, users can record images of exploring and enjoying K-Wonderland as photo or video content and can produce music videos and dramas using various spaces of K-Wonderland.
In addition, on October 18, the official ambassador of K-Wonderland, ITZY, will participate in a metaverse fan meeting in K-Wonderland to actively communicate with Korean Wave fans.
Jeong Gilhwa, said, “This K-Wonderland is expected to be an attempt to preoccupy the new content market by combining digital technology and expanding Korean Wave content for future generations.”.
Anyone can visit K-Wonderland through the ZEPETO application, and details can be found on the official website of K-Wonderland (kwonderland.kr).
