Naver has officially launched CLOVA Care Call, an AI call service for senior and middle-aged one-person households.
Naver has been upgrading its service by demonstrating CLOVA Care Call to areas such as Haeundae-gu, Busan, Seoul, Incheon, and Daegu since last year, and plans to expand its service nationwide with the official launching.
CLOVA Care Call is a service that confirms the safety of the elderly person who needs a check-up by the AI calling about eating, sleeping, and health.
Naver's own super-sized AI Hyperclova technology is applied, allowing free interactions such as talking to friends rather than standardized questions and answers, which allows emotional care beyond simple health checks.
Naver's voice synthesis and voice recognition engine have also been installed to provide a more natural conversation experience.
Naver has officially launched the CLOVA Care Call service and will further strengthen its call result management tool and enhance service quality.
Local government officials can review the overall call status such as completed calls and unresponsive calls through the call management tool at a glance, and it is possible to quickly check the answers containing inconveniences in each category of health, sleeping, eating, exercise and outing.
In particular, the emergent or unusual details will be displayed separately so that it can be quickly identified and taken care of if the call has not been answered for two consecutive weeks.
Based on the advanced technology and high service completion based on the super-sized AI, CLOVA Care Call is receiving favorable responses from elderly users and local governments, while expanding its presence to various regions.
In November last year, it started beta service in Haeundae-gu, Busan. Since then, the service has been introduced to Daegu, Incheon, and Seoul.
Especially, the interaction with CLOVA Care Call has attracted attention because it has the effect of alleviating loneliness and social isolation of the elderly living alone.
A survey of seniors who participated in the CLOVA Care Call Beta service in Haeundae-gu, Busan, found that about 90% of seniors felt comfort after using the service.
In addition, about 95% of respondents said they were willing to continue using the service, showing high service satisfaction.
Based on these results, Naver will present a case study of CLOVA Care Call at the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics (IAGG), the world's leading international conference on geriatric medicine, next month.
Moreover, Naver plans to upgrade the CLOVA Care Call service by introducing the function of extracting and remembering key information that needs continuous management from the existing conversation between AI and users and using it for the next conversation in the third quarter of this year.
“We have confirmed that many local governments are rapidly increasing their needs for AI telephone care services in order to effectively manage the growing number of middle-aged and elderly single-person households since last year,” said Jeong Seok-geun, CEO of Naver CLOVA CIC. “We will further enhance the service quality through this official launch, actively continue cooperation with local governments, and expand the introduction of CLOVA Care Call service nationwide.”
Meanwhile, Naver presented the service experience video on the website of CLOVA AI Contact Center, starring actress Son Sook and biologist Choi Jae-cheon with the launch of CLOVA Care Call.
