Instead of paper certificates, it will get easier to use mobile electronic certificates that can issue and submit certificates on smartphones.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced that it will produce QR codes for issuing and submitting electronic certificates and distribute them to 17 cities and provinces, 226 small cities and counties, public institutions, and commercial banks so that people can use mobile electronic certificates more conveniently.
Mobile electronic certificate service will allow users to obtain various certificates such as resident registration, and vaccination certificates on their smartphones, and are used instead of paper certificates in tasks close to people's lives, such as employment, subscription to financial and telecommunication products, and support for small businesses.
In order to use the electronic certificate QR code, you can take a picture of the QR sticker installed at the civil service counters of the city, county, and district offices or a commercial bank and get the necessary certification documents issued by the smartphone or submit them to the relevant institution.
▶Issuance of Certificate
If you take a picture of the QR code for issuance posted at the civil service counters of various institutions on your smartphone, you can directly connect to mobile apps such as Naver App, Kakao Talk, and Government 24 App, and apply for the electronic certificate you want to get from the app.
You can take a QR code for issuing an electronic certificate through a camera on your smartphone, select an app that is frequently used from the list of mobile apps displayed, and choose to issue an electronic certificate.
▶Submission of Certificate
To submit an electronic certificate to the visiting institution, you can take a QR code for submission, and submit the certificate issued by the institution's electronic document wallet that is automatically recognized.
Citizens can select to submit an electronic certificate on the issued electronic certificate mobile screen → Take a QR code for submission → Select a submission button → Share the reading code (6 digits) to the person in charge of the window.
Meanwhile, 18 mobile apps that can apply for electronic certificates, including △ Naver App, △ Kakao Talk, and △ Toss App, have been newly added to the △ "KB Kookmin Bank Star Banking App" and △ "Gwangju Bank Personal Banking App."
Hwang Kyu-chul, a public intelligence policy officer at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, said, "We hope that the use of electronic certificates will be expanded and people's lives will be more convenient," adding, "We will continue to make efforts to implement a digital platform that allows people to use government services anywhere in real-time."
