Anyang City joins the World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization as a full member

Anyang City has officially been approved to join WeGO(World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization). Anyang City said, "We have recently notified the decision at the 2020 EXCOM regular executive committee hosted by WeGO."

WeGO was founded in September 2010 by the Seoul Metropolitan Government to improve the life quality of citizens around the world and to develop a "sustainable smart city" through mutual exchange and cooperation between cities. It is an international organization with more than 200 members, including 155 cities including Paris, France, San Francisco, and Berlin, Germany, and 19 institutions.

In Korea, seven local governments, including Seoul City, Sejong City, Jeju Island, Goyang CIty, Seongnam City, Gimpo City, and Gwangmyeong City, are registered as members, and Anyang City will be listed as the eighth.

Anyang City built total smart city plan on March last year and has been responding to the era of the fourth industrial revolution by applying smart systems to various fields such as crime prevention, safety, transportation, and dangerous object detection.

as it is eligible for presentation and promotion through participation in large-scale international conferences and meetings, and opportunities for consulting, exporting, and promotion of companies based in the city are given on the international stage. In addition to joining WeGO, we are also planning to acquire Smart City Certification from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.”
