Bucheon City presents its achievements in Smart City at the 2022 World Smart City Expo

Bucheon City, which participated in the "2022 World Smart City Expo", drew attention as its smart citizen tutor explained Bucheon City's smart city accomplishments, including the smart city challenge project.

At the expo, Bucheon Mayor Cho Yong-ik and Smart Citizen Tutor (CEO Park Myung-ho) explained the Smart City Challenge project which has been promoted since the second half of 2020, network and video data collection infrastructure, smart welfare, IoT, and robot industries built throughout the city, etc.

Smart Citizen Tutor is a citizen support group that completes in-depth education on smart cities among citizens who have completed basic education on digital competency and conducts digital basic and smart city-related education and promotional activities for the digital underprivileged.

Bucheon City also introduces the total contents and achievements of 44 organizations, including ▲ 26 in the data field, ▲ 7 in the network field, and ▲11 in the AI field, which was introduced as "D.N.A BUCHEON(Data, Network, Artificial Intelligence BUCHEON)." created by citizens, public (Buchon City, Bucheon Housing and Communities Corporation and Bucheon Industry Development Institute) and companies (Challenge and technology companies).

In particular, Bucheon City won the 2022 WSCE Awards (City category), which were given to domestic and foreign local governments that carried out excellent policies or projects related to smart city projects at "2022 WSCE", proving the competitiveness of smart Bucheon.

"Warm Smart City, Bucheon," which citizens can create themselves, is introducing and upgrading new technologies such as "Smart City Pass" (traffic, safety, environment, and My Data), an all-in-one service app built by 15 companies participating in the smart city challenge.

In addition, 26 smart civic tutors are making Smart City for People through seven smart sharing centers built in the city base to educate and inform citizens about Bucheon-type smart policies.

Bucheon Mayor Cho Yong-ik said, "We will prioritize smart city policies so that 'D.N.A BUCHEON' promoted as a strength can be an opportunity for cities and citizens to compete and leap forward, and accelerate smart city growth by establishing an ecosystem in which many small technology companies in Korea cooperate with Bucheon."
