On the 28th, Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon visited the Jeollanam-do Provincial Government and met with Governor Kim Young-rok to sign an agreement on win-win development between Jeollanam-do and Gyeonggi-do.

The two governors agreed that the Seoul metropolitan area and the provinces should establish a close cooperative system for balanced national development and decided to work together to realize a better local era and the new Republic of Korea.

Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon said, "The country's economy is in a difficult situation in many ways, and I think the Korean economy and society will suffer more for a considerable period of time than in the IMF or the financial crisis." And added, "At times like this, the role of the central government is important, but we signed an agreement in the context that it would be good for metropolitan governments to work together to do what we can."

And added, "The balanced regional development should be done in a way that grows the pie itself, and we will try to make achievements that the residents of both regions can feel by putting them into practice with the signing ceremony."

Kim Young-rok, governor of Jeollanam-do, said, "I think our cooperation can be a milestone by offering a new way for local and central regions to coexist and prosper together as an economic expert," adding, "We will cooperate so that Gyeonggi-do and Jeollanam-do can establish a framework for symbiosis and co-prosperity in the Seoul metropolitan area."

The six agreements are joint responses to strong decentralization, such as the ▲ Joint response for strong decentralization, such as the expansion of autonomy, ▲ Efforts to provide government support for win-win cooperation between the metropolitan area and local areas, and the risk of extinction of local areas, ▲ Mutual cooperation in fostering urban air transportation (UAM), renewable energy industry, marine water leisure sports industry, ▲ Jeollanam-do eco-friendly agricultural products expand the supply of school meals in Gyeonggi-do, and jointly open and operate a win-win market for excellent agricultural products, ▲ Strengthening exchanges and cooperation to revitalize the tourism industry and supporting the successful hosting of international events, ▲ Promoting mutual cooperation and youth exchanges to promote the love donation system for hometowns

Under the agreement, Gyeonggi Province will foster urban air transportation, a renewable energy industry, and marine water leisure sports industry, which will be future growth engines with Jeollanam-do and provide an opportunity to build a shared growth ecosystem.

The signing of the agreement is the second win-win agreement signed with the metropolitan government after Chungcheongnam-do Province since Governor Kim Dong-yeon took office in the 8th popular election. It will expand partnerships with the central government and metropolitan local governments to become the "opportunity capital" of Korea and become the center of "more opportunities, more even opportunities, and better opportunities."
