LG Uplus will provide smart care services to nursing facilities across the country with Neton.
LG Uplus announced on June 19 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Federation of Senior Welfare and NETON on the project to build intelligent CCTVs in nursing facilities across the country.
Unlike general CCTVs, LG Uplus and NETON, which specialize in artificial intelligence vision recognition, will provide intelligent CCTV solutions to nursing homes that allow artificial intelligence to detect and automatically blur out human faces in videos without exposing personal information.
This solution utilizes multiple face recognition technology to detect up to 20 people simultaneously and blur even those who move with face-tracking technology.
LG Uplus will test-run intelligent CCTVs at 20 nursing homes which the Korea Federation of Senior Welfare runs from June to provide optimized solutions to nursing home sites.
In combination with "U+Smart Radar," which detects changes in the posture of the elderly, products that can prevent falls in nursing homes will be released in the fourth quarter. Customized solutions for nursing homes that can solve practical difficulties will continue to be expanded.
Choi Taek-jin, head (vice president) of LG Uplus corporate division, said, "We will continue to support smart care services so that senior citizens can live more safely."
