The "Smart Greenhouse Operation and Development Research Group" was launched to promote efficient and systematic research on smart forest resource production.
According to the National Institute of Forest Science on April 11, the "Smart Greenhouse Operation and Development Research Group," which consists of 40 experts from the smart greenhouse and big data-related departments and forest research institutes in Gangwon, Chungbuk, Jeonnam, and Gyeongnam, held a launching ceremony.
The "Smart Greenhouse Operation and Development Research Group" plans to hold regular research meetings every month to collect technical information and come up with application plans through seminars of smart greenhouse experts and tours to areas with advanced technologies.
At the launch ceremony of the "Smart Greenhouse Operation and Development Research Group," a forest smart production technology system based on advanced convergence digital technology was introduced, and future cooperation and development plans were discussed.
In particular, the experts diagnosed the level of smart element technology at present, such as ▲ Smart greenhouse infrastructure ▲ Automatic control system ▲ Biometric information evaluation ▲ Development of growth prediction model ▲ Big data collection and standardization ▲ Cooling ▲ Fertilization and irrigation ▲ Storage and distribution ▲ Energy reduction, and conducted in-depth discussions on how to apply advanced smart technology.
The National Institute of Forest Science has recently expanded and promoted smart greenhouse-related research facilities in response to changes in industrial manpower and climate crisis, and experts in various fields of forest-related strategic tree species and crops collaborated to start differentiated and specialized smart greenhouse operation and research.
“Now, the forest sector is also centered on advanced smart technology and data-based research,” said Park Hyun, director of the National Institute of Forest Science. “We will expand research and field-tailored technology dissemination through collaboration with local governments to convert forest smart production technology that meets the pace of change in science and technology development, industrial manpower structure, and climate crisis such as information and communication,” he said.
