Busan Noksan Smart Green Industrial Complex Project Group has been launched.

The Busan Metropolitan Government announced that it will launch the Busan Noksan Smart Green Industrial Complex Project and start full-scale operation to convert the Noksan National Industrial Complex into a "Smart Green Industrial Complex."

The Smart Green Industrial Complex is a project to convert the local old industrial complex into a smart eco-friendly manufacturing space as the representative task of the Korean version of the New Deal.

Starting with the Industrial Complexes in Changwon and Shihwa in 2019, seven industrial complexes are currently designated nationwide, including the Noksan Industrial Complex in Busan.

Noksan National Industrial Complex is Busan's only national industrial complex that plays a pivotal role in the regional economy and industrial logistics and it was selected as a smart green industrial complex with the base industrial complex in March last year.

The project to build the Noksan Smart Green Industrial Complex in Busan will transform the current Noksan Industrial Complex into a 'Youth-friendly Human Resources Development Complex' through innovation in industrial manufacturing, smart green conversion, and youth-friendly industrial complex as business goals, smart green logistics complex through the improvement of industrial infrastructure, and strengthening job ecosystem.

Busan City plans to carry out 15 projects totaling KRW 408.2 billion, including nine digital conversion projects including building a foundation for innovation in smart industrial fabrication, building and upgrading smart factories, expanding smart convenience facilities, building energy self-sufficiency infrastructure, building smart energy platforms, and three eco-friendly infrastructure projects including smart garden ball projects and industrial environment improvement funds projects for five years until 2026.

In addition, the project will set three major achievement goals for Noksan National Industrial Complex by 2026, including 806.6 billion won in production inducement effect, 267.9 billion won in value-added inducement effect and 5,552 employment inducement effect. Also, the project will concentrate the efforts on finding new businesses and securing government expenses for carbon-neutral industrialization through an organic cooperation system with local innovation organizations.

Moreover, the industrial complex remodeling business will be finalized with a total of 32 projects totaling 1.69 trillion won, and the company plans to start a full-scale business from this year to build the Noksan National Industrial Complex, the Sasang Industrial Complex, Shinpyeong Janglim Industrial Complex, and the branch office area, which are linked to smart logistics, as the core sub-head of smart green mobility (materials, parts, and equipment).

“With the launch of the Noksan Smart Green Industrial Complex project, we will accelerate the revitalization of the local economy through the transformation of the industrial complex and the creation of a green smart city Busan,” said Park Hyung-joon, the mayor of Busan.
