Kia and Humax Mobility, a mobility platform company, announced on the 14th that they have signed an MOU to establish partnerships in automation and mobility businesses.
Kia and Humax Mobility decided to cooperate in various fields under three directions: △ joint response to automation transformation, △expansion of mobility as a service (MaaS) areas, and △expansion of data-based businesses.
The two companies are planning to actively respond to the transition to the era of electric vehicles through cooperation centered on electric vehicles, such as purchasing electric vehicles, planning and operating electric vehicle services, and partnerships related to charging infrastructure and services.
Kia will provide charging and parking, and last-mile mobility-linked services, especially to electric vehicle membership (Kia EV Members) and subscription-type rental car (Kia Flex) customers. Kia Membership has decided to collaborate with Humax Mobility to provide more innovative customer benefits such as non-face-to-face vehicle management services that provide car wash, simple maintenance, inspection, and data-based customized insurance.
In addition, Kia and Humax Mobility decided to continue collaboration in various fields to strengthen their mid-to-long-term new business capabilities and synergy.
Humax Mobility is a mobility subsidiary of Humax, a leading company in video and network gateway. It is also one of the representative mobility service companies in Korea that provide services based on major mobility element technologies such as 'Hi-Parking', which operates a parking and parking service base, 'Car Flat Biz', which serves a B2B specialized car-sharing platform, 'Humax EV', which provides electric car charging infrastructure solution, and 'Humax Parks', a parking control system specialist.
“We will offer the best mobility and electric power experience to customers in the domestic market through various collaborations with Humax Mobility,” said Lee Han-eung, managing director of Kia’s sales division. “We will continue to strive to provide our customers with innovative mobility experiences,” he said.
