- When using public transportation, the state and local governments offer mileage and support additional transportation costs for credit card companies depending on the distance they move - Regional mobile transportation cards can also be used by registering them in the mobile transportation card application

The "Mobile Transportation Card" service, which can be used only with smartphones, will be expanded and implemented to most parts of the country from September 29.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (Minister Roh, Hyung-wook), the Metropolitan Transportation Committee (Chairman Baek, Seung-geun), the Korea Transportation Safety Authority (Chairman Kwon, Yong-bok), Loca Mobility Co., Ltd. (CEO Son, Min-soo), and DGBUpay Co., Ltd. (CEO So, Geun) announced that they will expand mobile transportation card services that can only be used with smartphones to most parts of the country from September 29.

The Mobile Transportation Card Service is a project to reduce the national transportation cost. It is a project in which the state and local governments offer mileage and credit card companies support additional transportation expenses based on the distance of use such as walking and bicycle when using public transportation. Users can reduce the public transportation cost by up to 30% as up to 20% of the national and local governments (mileage) and up to 10% of credit card companies (addition discounts) share.

Mobile transportation cards, which can only be used via transportation card app (T-Money Pay Transportation Card) installed on smartphones without a real transportation card, was introduced last year, but so far, inconvenience has been pointed out as they are only available in the metropolitan area, Daejeon, Sejong, and Jeju.

As a result, the Metropolitan Transportation Committee signed a business agreement with related agencies in June to expand mobile affordable transportation cards nationwide and implemented services in most parts of the country from September 29 after preparing for the operation of mobile transportation cards.

Previously, only T-Money Pay (T-Money) was available, but Mobile Cashbee (Loca Mobility) and Winpass (DGBU Pay) were also available.

In order to use a mobile transportation card, you can install a regional mobile transportation card app on your smartphone to receive a mobile transportation card and sign up through the affordable transportation card app.

Mobile transportation card apps can be supported only by Android smartphone models. Incheon, Gyeonggi, Busan, Ulsan, Gangwon, Chungbuk, Chungnam, Jeonbuk, Jeonnam, and Gyeongnam areas use mobile cash. Daegu and Gyeongbuk areas use one-pass apps.
