Siheung City, Gyeonggi-do, will openly recruit institutions and companies to participate in the 2021 free proposal project of the ‘Smart City Innovation Growth Engine Project’ by October 5.
The ‘Smart City Innovation Growth Engine Project’ is a project organized by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Korea Institute of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (KAIA) to create new growth engines in the future and improve the quality of life of the people.
The free proposal project, which Siheung City will host, will provide a total of 1.3 billion won over 14 months, with up to 700 million won in the budget for each project as a project to develop and demonstrate smart city-linked services under the theme of a total of four areas: metaverse & electronic citizenship, environmental management, living facilities, and youth networks.
Siheung City has selected topics through a preliminary demand survey and plans to implement innovative technologies that meet the city's demand.
Siheung City plans to carry out this project in a living lab method that participates in the entire process of technology development by giving opinions and feedback on achievements through citizen participation and contributes to the creation of a smart city ecosystem based on citizen participation.
The Siheung City Innovation Growth Project Group said, "By providing high-quality data to companies by linking the data collected through the R&D project with the data hub, it will be an opportunity to create various businesses."
