SK Telecom (SKT) announced that it launches the 'AI Barista Robot', an unmanned coffee robot, along with Doosan Robotics, a domestic robot manufacturer.
AI Barista Robot is an unmanned coffee robot service, made by Doosan Robotics' robot manufacturing and service capabilities with SKT's AI, big data, and security technologies.
More than 20 kinds of drinks such as various coffee and ade beverages can be made by the AI robot. In addition, AI Barista Robot upgraded the function of the existing coffee robot to allow customized coffee flavor extraction to suit various customers' taste and introduced the industry's first function of providing drinks by closing the cup lid. CCTV security functions, which are essential for operating unmanned stores, can be selected as an option.
In addition, AI technology analyzes sales status by menu, branch, raw material consumption, and device status in real-time and informs them through alarming and provides manufacturing status analysis data for each item desired by customers such as coffee, ade, and milk. It is also planning to release an app (application) version sometime in January.
SKT plans to popularize AI barista robots through various promotions and price policies.
SKT is conducting various business cooperation, including planning franchise robot products with large domestic cafe operators to expand its rapidly growing unmanned coffee robot business. SKT plans to become a leading company in the domestic coffee robot market within the next five years with the best service and cost-effective products.
