The 2022 Smart GEO Expo opens on November 2nd

Hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (Minister Won Hee-ryong), the Smart GEO Expo 2022 will be held at KINTEX's 1 Exhibition Hall in Ilsan, Gyeonggi-do, for three days from November 2nd (Wed) to November 4th (Fri).

Starting with the opening ceremony under the theme of "Digital Earth: A better life for all," it will offer a variety of exhibitions, business meetings, workshops, conferences, experience content, diverse contests and start-ups, and job support programs.

This year, 128 domestic and foreign spatial information leading companies (Hyundai Motor, Google, Doosan, HANCOM InSpace, TMAP, and Proptech companies) will participate in the exhibition with more than 250 booths, the largest ever in terms of size.

The exhibition hall is composed of future core technologies based on spatial information such as smart mobility, digital platform, twin technology, drones, AI, and big data by theme such as digital district theme hall, GEO software zone, ground technology zone, aerospace zone, startup zone, and talent training zone, so that people can see the convenient and safe future life and national territory at a glance.

In particular, this year, it is expected that the base of public consensus and spatial information utilization services will be expanded by implementing digital twin-based smart land utilization services such as Urban Air Mobility(UAM), AI analysis, safety, and convenience as realistic experience-oriented contents.

Rich experience contents such as My Avatar created with real-time holograms, flight simulation from the actual light aircraft control seat, urban air flight experience of drone taxis that are adjusted with my hands, and 3D Anyangcheon Stream travel route by bicycle are representative things to enjoy this year's event.

At this year's event, more than 80 major overseas figures from 25 countries will visit Korea to share the latest trends and policy directions of spatial information technology and help domestic companies advance overseas.

It is unusual for officials from all three international financial institutions, the World Bank Group, the Asian Development Bank, and the African Development Bank Group, to participate in the event, and various networking are scheduled, including 1:1 business meetings with domestic companies, workshops, consulting, showcases, business briefings, and innovative technology presentations.

There will also be programs to train digital talent and strengthen the competitiveness of rising companies(startups).

It will conduct mock and in-depth interviews for strengthening interview capabilities and successful career design of specialized high school students and develop practical skills through AI job consulting to support their growth as digital talents with job skills in the field of spatial information.
