Seoul Metropolitan Government will participate in the 2022 Smart City Expo World Congress, the world's largest smart city international event after three years.
This year's event of the Smart City Expo World Congress, which is held every year in Barcelona, Spain, will be held in Barcelona for three days from November 15 to 17.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government was selected as the winner of the "City Award" at the "World Smart City Awards" held as one of the 2019 Smart City Expo World Congress ceremonies.
At that time, a total of 450 cities and institutions were nominated, and only six cities, including Seoul, received the main prize.
Bristol in the UK, Curitiba in Brazil, Montevideo in Uruguay, Tehran in Iran and Stockholm in Sweden were honored with the main award along with Seoul at the time.
The World Smart City Award is an additional event of the Smart City Expo World Congress, which annually selects excellent smart cities, innovative projects, and ideas that lead smart city industry with cutting-edge ICT technologies.
The City Award, which the Seoul Metropolitan Government won in 2019, is presented to a city that presents an advanced urban strategy that combines smart city-related research and initiatives and implementation into real books.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government previously won the Project Awards Main Award for its M-voting service in 2015 and the City Award in 2016.
