Ulsan Metropolitan City announced that it was selected for the ‘2022 Local Government Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) National Subsidy Programs’ by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and will receive a total of 1.95 billion won in government funding.

Based on this, Ulsan plans to spend a total of 2.738 billion won by the end of this year to promote the project after consulting with related organizations.

Firstly, 1.78 billion won will be allocated to the project to strengthen the traffic information monitoring system by expanding the installation of traffic facilities and replacing outdated information systems.

The ‘2022 Intelligent Transport System (ITS) National Subsidy Programs’ will be subdivided into ▲ replacement and new expansion of outdated intelligent transport system (ITS) facilities ▲ replacement of outdated intelligent transport system (ITS) equipment ▲ expansion of the smart parking information system.

The main project plans to lay the foundation for close traffic monitoring by replacing 36 old CCTVs installed on roads, installing new CCTVs and vehicle detectors on new roads such as Leeye-ro, and installing them at two smart intersections to collect information on traffic at intersections.

In addition, as an alternative to installing the driver’s traffic signal remaining time device, which is a market promise, The driver convenience business, which provides the remaining time for traffic signals for vehicles on Kakaomap, etc., will also be implemented in parallel by installing additional signal information linkage equipment at 50 major intersections and providing traffic signal information as public data to the private sector.
