Gyeongsangbuk-do has launched a large project to create two metaverse convergence industry clusters to lead the metaverse era.
Extended reality (XR) metaverse manufacturing is a concept of a next-generation smart factory business that innovates the manufacturing industry by utilizing new extended reality (XR) devices such as smart glasses and data centers.
Gyeongsangbuk-do plans to strengthen the competitiveness of its flagship manufacturing industry by applying metaverse technology to industrial complexes by establishing Metaverse Hub Valley and Extended Reality (XR) Technology Place and utilizing the only "XR device support center" in the country.
At the same time, Gyeongsangbuk-do plans to cooperate with major domestic companies to attract a huge Hangul AI cloud and create a Hangul Metaverse content start-up cluster.
To this end, Gyeongsangbuk-do plans to make all-out efforts to be selected for the "ultra-wide metaverse hub valley" project to be promoted by the Ministry of Science and ICT next year, while actively proposing to politicians and central ministries to include it in the presidential election.
Gyeongsangbuk-do also signed a business agreement with Cyworld Jet last month to provide policy services using metaverse.
To open and provide the service in December, it plans to open a metaverse mini homepage of Gyeongsangbuk-do to promote provincial administration.
In addition, starting next year, the company will start its own businesses, such as building a ▷ Metaverse Gyeongbuk map ▷ Dokdo Virtual Experience ▷ Saving alley commercial districts using Metaverse.
Regarding the creation of a metaverse convergence industry cluster, Gyeongsangbuk-do has formed a metaverse promotion TF team centered on the administrative governor since September to focus on securing technological competitiveness and linking experiential economy platform services.
Currently, based on the analysis of metaverse-related technology competitiveness and industrial status, a Metaverse Industry Promotion Study is underway aimed at fostering the metaverse industry and preparing a national industrial complex demonstration plan, and a detailed outline is expected to be opened by the end of the year.
Kang Sung-jo, the governor of the administration, said, "If we have an idea of Metaverse, we will devise all support measures to start a business and fulfill our dreams in Gyeongbuk area. We will stand tall as a metaverse convergence industry center through the introduction and convergence of metaverse technology in all areas of administration."
