CJ Logistics is leading the innovation of logistics through the "digital twin," which is considered one of the core technologies for implementing smart cities.
CJ Logistics announced that it will introduce a "digital twin based logistics center" next month that can operate the real logistics center in the virtual world to optimize workflow, inventory placement, facility efficiency, and identify the cause of equipment failure or product damage in advance.
Following the "Digital Twin Logistics Center," CJ Logistics plans to build a digital twin in the network department from next year.
The 'Logistics Network Digital Twin' of CJ Logistics analyzes the status of courier hubs and sub-terminals, the amount of courier service by time, and the amount of daily integration. It also optimizes the operation of terminals such as manpower and vehicles and analyzes information on transportation sites, customer order information, road traffic information. It is expected to be able to calculate the optimal route and area.
CJ Logistics plans to expand the digital twin to the entire logistics site by 2023 through phased technology development and implementation.
Kim Kyung-hoon, head of CJ Logistics' TES Logistics Technology Research Institute, said, "Digital twin will be the driving force to lead the drastic change in CJ Logistics' operation way in the future."
