The fifth general assembly of the ‘World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization (WeGO)’, an international consultative organization in the smart city sector founded by Seoul, will open at 3 p.m. on October 18 through a video conference at Dongdaemun Design Plaza’s Seoul On Studio.
The general assembly was originally scheduled to be held last year, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the organization's foundation, but was canceled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and postponed for one year, marking the first time in four years since the fourth general meeting.
Under the theme of ‘New Normal with Smart Sustainable Solutions for All’, 150 people from 50 global cities, including Moscow, Wellington, Chengdu, Bangkok, and Ulaanbaatar, will participate in the 5th General Assembly of WeGO, seeking ways to develop a sustainable smart city.
Meanwhile, at the ‘WeGO Sustainable Smart City Awards’, which marks its fifth anniversary this year, officials from Goyang, Seongnam, Georgetown (Malaysia), Sao Paulo (Brazil), Mexico City (Mexico), and Istanbul (Turkey) will receive awards.
The event will be broadcasted real-time via Live Seoul (tv.seoul.go.kr/)) and its official YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/channel/UCZlWjleK_PwJuSgOgTxFipA).
