Big Wave Recruits Companies to Invite Investment in Bio Sectors such as Smart Healthcare

Hosted by Incheon Metropolitan City and organized by the Incheon Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, Big Wave will recruit companies to participate in the IR presentation (Investment Attraction Business Plan Presentation).

The 4th Big Wave, which will be held on October 15, will target bio startups within 7 years in various fields such as smart healthcare, medical platform, medical device, artificial intelligence (AI) image analysis diagnosis, new drug development, and biomaterials. The public registration will run until 4 pm on October 15, and the final five or so companies will be selected by document and presentation evaluation.

The final selected companies will be diagnosed, strengthened, provided with briefings on investment attraction, and follow-up meetings. The direct investment by the Incheon Creative Economy Innovation Center will also be considered.

Big Wave was launched this year as an investment attraction platform created by Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Creative Economy Innovation Center to foster promising technology venture start-ups in Incheon and held three presentations in April, July, and September so far.

The presentation of the Big Wave investment attraction business plan has been reborn as a venue for investment attraction involving CVC (Corporate Venture Capital) and overseas partner companies, in addition to major domestic investment companies.

During the past 3 presentations, 14 companies and an average of 100 domestic and foreign investors attended each session. Participating companies could hold more than 20 follow-up meetings each time. In addition, among the participating companies, excellent results were achieved, such as being selected as an IPO organizer and achieved investment in free A and B rounds.

Meanwhile, the Incheon Creative Economy Innovation Center operates its own fund as the only public institution with direct investment capabilities in the jurisdiction. It has been selected as the official operating organization of the Incheon Innovation Parent Fund in Incheon Metropolitan City and plans to raise 600 billion won in funds and invites active investment from the public and private sectors. In addition, it has networks with large and medium-sized domestic and foreign companies and institutions to provide value-up and scale-up for promising companies.

Through collaboration with Incheon Metropolitan City, Hanjin, and KT, the Incheon Creative Economy Innovation Center has established a platform for discovering and fostering smart logistics, smart cities, and energy efficiency-oriented startups, contributing to improving export competitiveness of small and medium-sized venture companies.
