Sejong City Starts Trial Operation of Smart City App Service

Sejong Metropolitan Autonomous City (mayor Lee, Chun-hee) has launched a pilot operation of the ‘Sejong City App’ service developed as part of the construction of a smart city.

Sejong City App is a smart service platform that allows citizens to participate in municipal administration through policy proposals, living labs, and Sejong voting, as well as convenient access to various online services provided by Sejong City as an app drawer.

Sejong City App, developed as part of the construction of a 5-1 living area smart city with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport as well as the Korea Land and Housing Corporation, is scheduled to launch official services in October after a trial operation period.

The Sejong City App is expected to serve as a communication channel for its citizens to realize citizenship sovereignty by allowing citizens to easily discover local issues and present solutions through mobile devices.

Sejong City believes that citizen participation will be the core of the vitalization of the Sejong City App, so it will hold a "new pilot service subscription event" to spread the service.

To apply for the event, you can write a comment on participating in the Living Lab event of ‘10 years celebration of Sejong’ by October 31 after installing and joining the Sejong City App in the Play Store or App Store.

The event organizer will offer prizes such as smartwatches and coffee coupons through a draw of participants.

Meanwhile, with the support of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Sejong City plans to promote the Sejong City App upgrade project from November and introduce blockchain technology-based Sejong citizenship and mobile document distribution services.
