GH to Raise a Support Fund for Smart City Startups

20 Billion won worth of support for smart technology development such as smart homes, smart parking, intelligent robot, digital twin, blockchain, and fintech

Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation(GH) will create a 'GH Innovation Startup Fund' to support startups in smart cities in the province.

GH announced that it will actively support the growth of the smart city industry by creating a GH Innovation Start-up Fund worth 20 billion won and recruit fund managers by September 2.

GH plans to invest more than 200 percent of its investment (2 billion won) into start-ups in smart cities in the province.

 

The investment targets are as follows:

△Safety & Disaster Prevention:

Intelligent CCTV, smart streetlights, missing child prevention, fine dust monitoring, integrated control, etc.

△Living & Welfare:

Healthcare, the living safety of the old and the infirm monitoring, intelligent robots, digital twins, blockchain, fintech, etc.

△Transportation:

Smart parking, crosswalk, bus information system (BIS), on-demand transportation, cargo delivery, etc.

△ Energy & Environment:

Solar energy, microgrid, smart trash can, low impact development (LID), EMS, ESS, AMI, etc.

△Culture & Tourism:

Public WI-FI, AR/VR/MR services, cultural and tourism platforms, city apps, etc.

△ Residence & Space:

Smart Home, Kiosk, Unmanned City, Facility Management, etc.

 

GH plans to select executives who will take charge of forming and managing funds by the end of next month. The application can be submitted to the GH's New Business Planning Office from the 30th of this month to the 2nd of next month.
