LC Greentech Introduces Biodiesel with 50% Reduction in Emissions

Biodiesel, which all diesel vehicles can run on without changing the engine structure with the same fuel efficiency and output quality of general diesel, has been developed by domestic technology.

LC Greentech (CEO Soo-gu Lee and Dae-yeol Jung), which develops fuel-saving material and bio-energy technology, announced on 6th that it has developed an innovative biodiesel (BD100) product with domestic technology.

All diesel-fueled vehicles can run on BD100 without changing the engine structure, and the fuel efficiency and output quality of BD100 are the same as general diesel. In addition, LC-BD20, which is a mixture of 20% biodiesel with regular diesel, produces only 50% of the emissions compared to current diesel emissions and acquires a competitive edge by supplying at the price of 700 to 800 won per liter.

LC Greentech said that the quality of the biodiesel product which has been developed over three years was compared with that of ordinary diesel, and the test result of bio-fuel such as BD100 and BD200 were found to meet the quality standard.

In particular, from July 1st of this year, it is legally required to mix 3.5% of biodiesel with ordinary diesel fuel, and by 2030 it will be mandatory for refineries to mix biofuel up to 5% by Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS).

“We have completed the development of LC-bioethanol (BE100) that can be used not only for biodiesel vehicles but also for gasoline vehicles,” said Lee Soo-gu, the CEO of LC Greentech. “LC-biofuel, which has a 10% higher heating value than current biofuel, has also been developed.”

LC Greentech’s eco-friendly fuel technology, including LC-biodiesel, can be realized up to 20% level of bioethanol, and biodiesel mixing obligation ratio of BD20 will be implemented without the economic burden of refineries.

In addition, LC-biofuel is expected to not only reduce the emissions of ships but also provide the economic effect of shipping companies in that it ensures the quality that can be used as fuel for large vessels.
