The autonomous patrol robot "Goalie," developed by Mando Co., Ltd. for the first time in the country and carried out its mission at Baegot Life Park in Siheung-si, has been upgraded to a second generation.
Siheung City (mayor Lim Byung-taek) announced that the second generation of the autonomous patrol robot "Goalie" started operation at Baegot Life Park.
While patrolling Baegot Life Park, "Goalie" has provided an intelligent smart service that can quickly respond to emergencies and crimes by screening video information in real-time using a camera mounted on it.
Goalie, which began operation in November 2020, has been upgraded to the second generation this time, with various strengthened functions.
When the battery is fully charged, the driving time increased from the previous 3 hours to 8 hours, the cargo load increased from 50kg to 150kg, and the maximum speed increased from 5km/h to 9km/h.
In addition, the first generation could only travel on a designated route, but the second generation could autonomously travel to the destination if the route was arbitrarily designated.
The main function improvements include an increase in driving time (3 hours → 8 hours) ▲ an increase in driving speed (5km/h → 9km/h) ▲ an autonomous driving of designated and arbitrary routes ▲ an increase in cargo loading (50kg → 150kg).
"Goalie," created by Mando Co., Ltd., which developed self-driving patrol robots, and Siheung City, which actively cooperated with the improvement of new technical regulations, is an empirical special project and is scheduled to run on a trial basis until June 30 this year.
The operation schedule is three times a week (Monday, Friday, and Sunday), and it runs four hours a day. It runs from 16:00 to 20:00 on Mondays, 14:00 to 18:00 on Fridays, and 12:00 to 16:00 on Sundays until February 28, the winter season.
With the launch of the upgraded 2nd generation of Goalie, citizens will be able to use the park more safely, Mayor Lim Byung-taek said. "We will do our best to improve the life quality of our citizens with public services that incorporate advanced technology through continuous cooperation with companies."
