Korea Exchange (Chairman Jeong Eun-bo) announced on the 29th that it will improve the ESG comprehensive information platform, the ESG portal, and establish an English ESG portal. The English portal will be available starting from the 30th.
In line with the expansion of domestic ESG disclosures, accessibility for foreign investors has been improved. In particular, starting next year, the disclosure target for corporate governance reports will be expanded to all listed companies on KOSPI.
The ESG platform has newly created a feature for comparing governance information of KOSPI listed companies and has enhanced the portal's search functionality.
A separate inquiry screen has been created for about 80 disclosure items, including compliance status of 15 key governance indicators and whether corporate governance-related policies have been adopted. Additionally, detailed search functions such as company name search and industry-specific inquiries have been strengthened on the inquiry screen.
Along with this, the content of the current Korean portal will be provided in English to resolve information asymmetry between domestic and foreign investors.
Key information such as corporate governance reports and sustainability management reports, which are in high demand from investors, will be provided in English, along with ESG disclosures and ESG evaluation ratings.
It has been implemented to allow for bulk inquiries of English ESG disclosures submitted by companies, and even if a company only submits Korean ESG disclosures, the disclosure title and format will be automatically converted to English.
Korea Exchange expects that "by improving the ESG comprehensive information platform and providing English services, it will enhance the accessibility of ESG information for domestic and foreign investors, while encouraging listed companies to actively disclose ESG information, thereby strengthening the foundation for the activation of ESG investments."
