Daniel, who was expelled from NewJeans, may have to pay 100 billion won to Ador

There are predictions that Daniel, who was expelled from the group NewJeans, may have to compensate Ador with 100 billion won.

Ador announced on the 29th, "We have determined that Daniel cannot continue as a member of NewJeans and an artist under Ador, and we have notified him of the termination of his exclusive contract today." They subsequently filed a lawsuit for penalty and damages against Daniel.

Ador stated, "It is difficult to specify the exact amount of damages, but the penalty will follow the formula already established in the exclusive contract."

In the meantime, a lawyer estimated that the penalty amount Daniel may owe Ador could be around 100 billion won.

Lawyer Ahn Hee-cheol from DL Law Firm recently made this estimate based on standard contract guidelines on a YouTube channel.

The penalty based on standard contract guidelines is calculated by multiplying Ador's average monthly revenue for the two years prior to the termination of the contract by the number of months remaining in the contract period.

Ador reported revenues of 110.3 billion won in 2023 and 111.1 billion won last year. Daniel's exclusive contract with Ador was set to last until July 31, 2029, leaving 54 months remaining.

This results in an estimated amount of about 108 billion won. The lawyer stated that the penalty can be claimed separately from the damages.

Ador has also warned of legal action against one of Daniel's family members. This situation could potentially lead Daniel to bankruptcy.

Meanwhile, it is reported that Daniel was engaged in volunteer work on the day Ador announced the termination of his exclusive contract.

On the 29th, a post was made by an internet user stating that they participated in a coal briquette delivery volunteer activity with Daniel at the NewJeans gallery.

The author wrote, "He was a volunteer who worked really hard for two hours and was a reliable team member. After the service, he shared cookies and chocolates, accepted all photo requests, smiled while signing, and showed no signs of distress, so I had no idea."
