Samsung C&T Wins 2 Trillion Won 'CO2 Transfer Facility' Construction Project in Qatar

Samsung C&T has successfully secured a large-scale eco-friendly energy facility project worth over 2 trillion won in Qatar. This order is regarded as a testament to Samsung C&T's construction capabilities in the global plant market.

On the 23rd, Samsung C&T announced through a public disclosure that it has won the 'Qatar CO2 Transfer Facility Construction' project worth a total of 2 trillion 24 billion won. The company stated that it has received the Letter of Award from the client and explained that this project involves the construction of a facility to recover carbon dioxide (CO2) emitted from the LNG liquefaction plant and transfer it to a waste gas field.

The total contract amount for this project consists of USD 1,131,515,382 and EUR 203,348,100. Samsung C&T added that the conversion to Korean won was calculated using the initial exchange rate at a specific point in time (1,477.80 won per dollar, 1,731.02 won per euro).

The construction contract period is scheduled from the start date until May 29, 2030. The payment terms are structured as progress payments based on the construction progress. Samsung C&T expects to further strengthen its position in the field of eco-friendly infrastructure development in the Middle East through this project.
