|Smart Today=Reporter Kim Se-hyung| Donations made through credit cards have been steadily increasing.

On the 28th, KB Kookmin Card (CEO Kim Jae-gwan) announced the results of an analysis of donations made through its credit and debit card payments and Pointree over the past five years.

The analysis was based on data from approximately 282,000 customers who donated to public interest corporations and non-profit organisations (including NGOs) using KB Kookmin Card from 2021 to November 2025.

The amount donated via card payments has shown an increasing trend each year, with a 51% increase this year (based on January to November) compared to the same period in 2021. The number of donating customers increased by 95% during the same period.

As of 2024, 84% of customers made donations more than twice a year, and high-frequency donors who donated more than 12 times a year (at least once a month) accounted for 44% of all donating customers.

In 2024, card payment donors contributed an average of £228,000 over the year. By age group, those in their 40s (32%) and 50s (30%) accounted for more than half of the total donation amount.

The average donation per person for customers in their 40s was £257,000, while those in their 50s donated £269,000, making them the main contributors.

Donations using KB Financial Group's integrated point system, 'Pointree', are also increasing each year. The average donation amount per person through Pointree rose from 7,700P in 2022 to 12,800P in 2025 (up to November).

Last year, the proportion of Pointree donations by age group was 35% for those in their 40s and 27% for those in their 50s, with the 40s and 50s accounting for 62% of the total. The annual average donation per person through Pointree was 15,600P for those in their 40s and 14,900P for those in their 50s, which was higher than other age groups.

A representative from KB Kookmin Card stated, "Donations made through card payments and points have established themselves as a culture of sharing in everyday life," and added, "We hope that warm sharing will spread even further this year."
